Activity-Based Workshops

Activity Based Workshops Our activity-based workshops are primarily practical, and review important first aid concepts. Courses can be customized to meet the needs of the group with regards to content and length of programme.

Participants spend their time in an activity-related environment reviewing common injuries and the management of these emergencies. Registrants will have the opportunity to work with both commercially available products and improvised materials, when dealing with the various scenarios they will encounter during the course.

These workshops are not recognized first aid courses. Certification will be issued upon completion of the programmes with included topics outlined on the reverse of the certificate as a reference.

Programmes can be 4, 8, or 12 hours, depending on your needs.

* 8 hour programme: $100
* 12 hour programme: $120

Backcountry Emergencies (12 hour)

A practical approach to managing emergenices in the back country.  Learn about cold weather injures, illnesses and conditions, and what you can do to keep all your fingers and toes.  This course includes a full day of wilderness scenarios and learning.

Water Safety (8 hour)
Paddle with confidence. This course focuses on river awareness, and personal safety, including planning safe river crossings, swimming through moving water, having a safety plan and the proper equipment in case of a river emergency.

High Altitude Workshop
Before going high, get the low-down on the latest developments on diagnosis of, treatment for, AMS.

High Angle Rescue with RMAMHigh Angle Rescue
From personal rescue to the coordination of a rescue team. From the wild mountain side to the industrial factory. Learn the systems and practices for a safe rescue environment.

Swift Water Rescue
This dynamic environment must be treated with respect... especially by the rescuer whten the adrenalin of the rescue runs high. Be an asset in a rescue, rather than a hindrance.

Travel Workshop
Montezuma's revenge... the trots... bugs, bugs, bugs! What to fear and how to avoid the wee beasties.

Bear and Animal Awarness
Cost: $70.00 - 4 hours. Be prepared for unexpected encounters with wild animals by learning to recognize their sign's. Minimize your risk factors, and develop the skills needed in order to act appropriately.
